2009 Favorite Albums pt. 2

Here are some more albums that occupied my ears last year.......


Frenchies Phoenix came out with a great, catchy album called, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.

Neko Case keeps up her consistently high quality production with Middle Cyclone. This album has so many good tracks (that were even better live I must say). It is a masterful album. I will try to pick deeper cuts...

Next up is the debut (I think) album from "Girls" called Album. It really rocks, I hear some Elvis Costello, some early Replacements and a whole lotta fun. See for yourself:

Dirty Projectors put out something pretty original on their album, Bitte Orca. Pretty Cool stuff:

Okay, here we go. Figured out my technical difficulties. Unfortunately, all the old mp3's can't be accessed anymore, sorry.

Islands -Vapours

Great album, more in the tradition of the "Return to Sea" album. Great, poppy, catchy indie rock hooks that I can't get enough of. Take a listen:

These guys have my favorite; the guy girl vocals, a groovy base, a slow boil. Gotta love it.

Probably the album I listened to the most and enjoyed over the longest sustained time period was the benefit album "Dark Was the Night". It had numerous excellent songs. Here is a sample and if you want to read more I blogged about it earlier in the year here.

attack from malicious hackers that have managed to destroy a
