Cypress Grove Blues is the winner!

Of my new game, "Musical Wheel of fortune Ipod Game". I press play on random and blog the song that comes up. Skip James was the winner with his song, "Cypress Grove Blues". Here is a taste of the lyrics:

And the old people told me, baby, but I never did know
The old people told me, baby woman, but I never did know
"The good book declare you got to reap just what you sow"
When your knee bone's achin' and your body cold
When your knee bone's achin' and your body cold
Means you just gettin' ready, honey, for the cypress grove

by
Nehemiah Curtis "Skip" James

Check it out here.
I love this song. He really does create this eery effect with his tuning and his voice and the scratchiness of the recording and,I don't know what else. But you can see why Robert Johnson paid attention to Skip and why Clapton had to do a version of one of his best known songs ("I'm so Glad").

Enjoy,

Peace
